Episode #8
Narika and I talked a little more and I had her laughing and smiling again, at least for that moment.
“Thank you Syrah. I love you girl. Thank you for listening and making me feel better. You’ve always been such a good friend to me,” said Narika.
“I love you too and you’re welcome. Anytime you need a friend, I will be there. You won’t have to go through this alone, Narika. Now next time you tell me you need to talk to me too. I thought you were just trying to get the scoop on my date,” I said.
“Well I was but, I was still kind of embarrassed about everything. I didn’t tell nobody else about Rayshon but you. It is still just too much and I really can’t talk too much about it right now, maybe later when I feel better.” she said.
“I know.”
“I’m going to let you go now. I know you and Terry are going to the mall later so make sure you put on another nice, cute lil sundress and make sure you wear some flat sandals girl cause you know them 3 inch heels you be wearing gone have you and Terry at Piedmont Hospital when your toes have a stroke in that mall,” she joked.
We laughed. How the heck did she know about the mall? There was a leak going on somewhere and it must be on Terry’s end, I thought to myself.
“I’ll call you tomorrow okay,” I said.
“Bye.”
Narika had only been dating Rayshon for about 6 months. But she truly loved him and they were even talking about marriage. On top of that her 3 year old daughter absolutely adored Rayshon and I have to admit myself, he was good with her, treated her like a little princess. However, this down low stuff was something Narika didn’t know about Rayshon. She said she didn’t see it. Maybe she just didn’t want to see it. She went on to tell me she talked to him earlier that day and he apologized and begged for her forgiveness, even wanted to still date her. She said she told him she forgave him but it was over. He told her he didn’t know if he was gay or bisexual or what. Narika said she even prayed with him on the phone. He cried. She did too. Narika ended the relationship that day. She told me she had only been intimate with him a few times but it was always protected. I told her she needed to get checked anyway and if she wanted me to go with her to her appointment, I was there.
